Turneffe Atoll is 36 miles from Ambergris Caye and is the largest of 4 atolls in the Western Hemisphere of which Belize is home to 3. Turneffe is made up of 20 islands and in its totality is 38 miles in length, 8 miles wide and encompasses numerous lagoons. Turneffe is famous for its drop offs and its slopes throughout most of its dive sites. This dive trip offers 3 dives with many sites to choose from.
The most famous is located on the southern tip known as The Elbow. A wall multilevel drift dive, because of the current attracts schools of game fish and an occasional hammerhead shark. Gorgonians, huge sponges and ecentric toad fish; of course apart from the beautiful coral formations are an attraction at this site.
